Ruth Limpers Scholarship

Three scholarships in the amount of $1,500 each will be distributed annually, one in each of the following categories: Public Sector Member Student, Non-Public Sector Member Student & Non-Member Student and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Student. Eligible students are defined as both graduate and undergraduate students (including high school seniors/incoming freshman).  This scholarship is funded through donations from private individuals, organizations, and other funding activities of IGFOA.

Ruth Limpers was a dedicated IGFOA employee who served Association members for more than two decades. Throughout her service, she was devoted to advancing the mission of IGFOA through education. In 2020 Ruth was diagnosed with ALS and in 2021, she lost her battle with the disease. To honor her memory and commitment to education, the RLSF was created to support the studies of students at an accredited educational institution interested in a career in government finance.
