CLC Study Abroad Scholarship

Award information:
CLC has study abroad scholarships that it makes available each year to students participating in CLC run programs. These scholarships offer up to 50% of the total cost of a study abroad program and provide funding for those students who may not otherwise be able to afford to participate in a study abroad program.

Scholarship Eligibility
To be eligible for a CLC Study Abroad Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of application
  • Have completed at least 6-12 credits at the College of Lake County by the departure date of the program
  • Have a minimum cumulative college GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
  • Have not previously received a CLC study abroad scholarship
  • Submit a complete scholarship application (consists of general application and additional questions). Only a complete application will be considered.
  • Attend and participate in the program indicated in the application. Should a selected recipient withdraw from the program before departure, he or she will not receive the scholarship funds
  • Must submit 1 letter of recommendation from a CLC instructor

Supplemental Questions
  1. Submit an essay that discusses “How studying abroad relates to my personal, academic, and career goals.” The essay should mention: (1) the name of the program for which you are applying; and (2) how this study abroad experience will be useful to your academic studies.
  2. Provide a recommendation (if you did not already provide one on the general application) from an instructor or someone other than relative.
