ARP HEERF III Student Grant Application

College of Lake County has received federal funds to directly support students who have demonstrated need and are facing financial challenges because of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic. The disbursement, from the U.S. Department of Education as part of the American Relief Plan (ARP), is designed to prioritize students with the greatest demonstrated financial need. The ARP funds help CLC students continue their education through economic challenges related to COVID-19.

Through this fund, eligible students will be provided with emergency cash grants to cover any component of their cost of attendance or emergency costs due to the COVID-19 pandemic, such as:

  • Tuition and fees
  • Food
  • Housing and utilities such as rent and cell phone bills
  • Books and course materials
  • Transportation
  • Technology
  • Healthcare (including mental health)
  • Childcare

Funding decisions will be made within seven business days.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for support, students must:

  • Be enrolled in classes at College of Lake County at any time during the period of national emergency (March 13, 2020 to present) with PCS codes of 1.1 (transfer), 1.2 (career), 1.4 (developmental), 1.6 (professional development), and 1.7, 1.8., 1.9 (adult education)

Assistance is granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability or national origin. This fund is available to all students regardless of citizenship status.

Grant funds are limited and funding is not guaranteed. All grant requests will be reviewed for approval. This application cannot be updated once it has been submitted. If updates are attempted after initial submission, there is no guarantee of consideration.
