CLC Promise Program
CLC’s Promise Program provides recent high school graduates with an opportunity to earn a debt-free associate’s degree. Eligible students receive a scholarship, earn extra money to help with college expenses, gain professional skills and create a plan to graduate in two years. It’s our promise to you and an investment in Lake County’s future.
Participating students receive:
- Free college: Receive a scholarship that pays your tuition and fees.
- Help from CLC faculty and staff: Stay on track with personalized support.
- Academic plan: Create a career or transfer plan with an advisor/student development counselor so you graduate in two years.
- Professional development: Participate in career and leadership activities to build your skills.
* Scholarship covers the difference between CLC tuition and fees and the student’s federal and state grant aid.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- Graduate in November/December of 2019 from a CLC district high school, including home-schooled students. **
- Reside in CLC’s district.
- Have a 2.3 cumulative high school GPA (4.0 scale)
- Place into MTH 108: Intermediate Algebra or higher (or MTH 101: Elementary Concepts of Mathematics or higher for High Demand Careers programs) and demonstrate College Reading and Writing Readiness (place into ENG 121 or higher).
- Complete FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). If selected for verification, it must be completed by the deadline.
- Have an EFC (Expected Family Contribution) of $6,000 or less.
- Plan to start classes in Spring 2020. This opportunity is not open to CLC students currently attending the Fall 2019 semester.
** On-time graduates from May/June 2019 are also eligible provided they are not currently attending CLC for the Fall 2019 semester.
